Privacy Policy
Effective November 2, 2026
In short: Time Keeper records usage time only for the apps and sites you allow, keeps it on this Mac, and never sends anything over the internet.
1. Information we process
| Information | When | Not stored |
|---|---|---|
| The name and identifier of the app in front, and when you started and stopped using it | While you use an app you allowed | Window titles, screen contents, keystrokes |
| The site name of the browser tab you're viewing (for example, youtube.com) and when you viewed it | While you view a site you allowed, in a browser you allowed | Full addresses, page titles, page contents, search terms |
| Settings: your character and style, daily limits, the list of allowed apps and sites, language, and so on | When you change a setting | — |
Apps and browsers you haven't allowed are not timed, and in a browser you haven't allowed, site names are not read at all.
2. Where it's stored and for how long
- Everything is stored only in the
~/Library/Application Support/TimeKeeperfolder on this Mac. The folder is locked so that only your macOS user account can open it. - It's kept until you delete it. You can delete everything at once with "Delete all records…" in Settings.
3. What we don't collect
- Personal details such as your name, email or phone number (there are no accounts)
- Screen recordings, keystrokes, location or advertising identifiers
- Usage statistics, crash reports or any other analytics or tracking
4. Sharing and transfers
Time Keeper doesn't send any information over the internet, and doesn't share or sell it to anyone. The app has no servers, ads or analytics tools.
5. Permissions it asks for
- Automation (controlling your browser): macOS asks whether Time Keeper may read the site name of the tab you're viewing in a browser you allowed. If you don't allow it, that browser isn't timed.
- Login item: added only if you turn on "Open at login" in Settings. It's off by default.
6. Your choices
- See today's records by clicking your buddy or from the menu bar menu.
- Change or remove the apps and sites being timed at any time in Settings.
- Delete all usage records with "Delete all records…" in Settings. Deleting the folder above along with the app removes your settings too.
7. Children
Time Keeper is made for a general audience and doesn't collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll post the changes and their effective date on this page.
9. This website
This website (timekeeper-app.com) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sees only the page visited, the site you came from, your country, and your browser and device type. It uses no cookies, doesn't store your IP address and doesn't identify you. The app itself still sends nothing.
